Night at the Movies: What Your Readers Want to See
Night at the Movies: What Your Readers Want to See
Nightmare on Article Street Part 2 - If You Missed the Previous Article...
Starting in the middle of a movie series can make the storyline difficult to follow. The same is true for readers beginning in the middle of an article series.
Imagine standing in line with a friend at a movie theater while looking at theatre's marquee to decide what to see...
Space Invaders Part 7
Never having heard of Space Invaders, you are confused on how you could have missed previews for the first seven films. That's a lot to have to catch up with and you see there are plenty of other films available to watch. You turn to your friend and you both agree the movie is not for you...
Like you and your friend, readers want readily accessible information that is easy to comprehend without having to play catch up by looking for the preceding articles. Readers want the full benefit in one article rather than across several articles. If the reader perceives it will take too much work to go searching for all the parts, the reader will continue looking for the content they desire.
Make it EASY for readers by giving jam-packed informative value in one concise article, rather than breaking up topics into parts.
Wily Wizards III
You DID see the first and second Wily Wizards, but your friend did not. No matter how much you talk up the movies, your friend thinks it would be too much trouble to try to find I and II, and then return to watch the third. Your friend has already lost interest in Wily Wizards and moves on...
Like your excitement for the latest Wily Wizards movie, publishers are excited about your articles; however, they know the reader doesn't want to play catch-up. Content presented in a series may work for blog posts or ebooks, but a series is not easy to re-distribute for syndication by publishers.
Make it EASY for publishers and readers alike by writing self-contained articles and you will increase your chances of being syndicated. This creates added exposure for your content, your website or blog, as well as additional backlinks when your content is included on other sites.
Standing Alone
Brand new, totally original, and got rave reviews. The movie promises all the action, adventure, and thrill you and your friend have been looking for without having to go back and find additional content. Do you and your friend buy a ticket? YES!
Like you and your friend, your reader will be excited to read your article because they are not confused by anything leading up to it, they are not daunted by all the legwork to read your article, and there's a better chance they have found it by a trusted source they have subscribed to.
You can do this by narrowing down the focus of your article and planning ahead to ensure your articles stay focused on your reader's needs.
For example: let's say you are an Expert Author on building houses. If you start off on the huge topic of building houses, you are really going to end up with an article pushing the 5,000 word count limit that is not easily digested by article readers. However, if you narrow down your focus by planning ahead, you can break the topic of home building down into a set of articles like this: "Planning Your Dream Home," "To Hire or Not to Hire a Contractor When Building Your Home," "A Home Builders Checklist - Don't Build a Home Without It," "DIY Home Building - What Many Home Builders Wish They Knew Before They Began Building," etc.
Write with the reader's time and effort in mind by providing the full benefit in each article. If you do find yourself in a "series" mode, learn how to truly optimize it with the 2 Minute Approval Tips: Optimize Articles in a Series video.
There's so much to write! How do you break up large article topics into self-contained articles? Let us know in the comments section here!

Words of Wisdom Article Template
Words of Wisdom Article Template
Readers and Authors Use Famous Quotations as a Source of Inspiration
If after reading a quote you have found yourself saying: "I wish I wrote that!" Or believe someone else said it best, therefore there is no need for you to say it again - we have the article template for you.
Famous quotations, words of wisdom, idioms, and proverbs are a great way to engage the reader and share your personal story that either proves the words of wisdom or disproves them.
Some common expressions and words of wisdom can be "spot on" and teach us life lessons so we don't have to make the same mistakes others have made in the past.
In other cases, we learn that some words of wisdom may be inaccurate based on our own experience. This is something definitely worth sharing.
Either way, if some personal experience in your niche reminds you of words of wisdom you have heard in the past, you can write an article about that experience.
Let's get started with the Words of Wisdom Article Template:
Share the Quote in Your Introduction: Lead the article off with the quote you are going to be discussing and share who said the quote originally. Provide a brief explanation of what it means (or its intended meaning). If it is a fairly uncommon quote, you may want to provide a brief background or context for the reader.
Tell Your Story: Show readers how you found the words of wisdom to either be true or false, don't tell (i.e. "I did this and then this happened..."). You can show readers your story by maintaining a conversational tone to keep readers engaged and providing them with important and descriptive details.
Explain the Lesson: Reiterate what you learned from your experience. If the words of wisdom didn't really speak to you, explain why.
Recap Your Thoughts: Conclude your thoughts about the original words of wisdom by outlining the key points of your lesson and whether you felt the quote was accurate or inaccurate. Give your readers one last push by helping them see your story from a different perspective.
Consider this template when you are ready to pass on your own words of wisdom about your niche. Come back here and let us know how it worked for you! Who knows? Maybe someone else will be quoting your articles in the near future!

"I love the new method."
The new method to submit an article is outstanding. I found it to be about 100x easier than the previous method and that was really easy.
I love the new method. Super simple. Clean. No issues.

"...the positive effects of passive income and name recognition is well worth the effort."
Thanks so much for the great publicity. I was amazed at how many articles I already had written when I started digging out all my old notes and speeches. It just took a little reformatting, bringing up to date and filling in here and there to have them ready to send off to you.
Even though we are swamped with projects, the positive effects of passive income and name recognition is well worth the effort. Keep up the good work.

"EzineArticles helped shift the entire paradigm by putting the power back into the hands of the writers and authors."
As a naming and branding consultant, nothing holds more value than potential clients seeing your work published in written form. That once required writing queries to editors in hopes of being "picked" to write an article.
EzineArticles helped shift the entire paradigm by putting the power back into the hands of the writers and authors. Now we have a direct pipeline to our potential customers and audience.
We can share advice, offer help, syndicate our work and generate valuable leads. It's effectively blown the bottleneck out of the old system. Thanks for devising a tool that allows for a freer flow of information. That's powerful stuff!

2 Minute Approval Tips: #18 Article Summaries
2 Minute Approval Tips: #18 Article Summaries
Episode 18 of the "2 Minute Approval Tips" Video Series
The article summary ranks as the most neglected part of an article submission. It's no surprise when so much attention is placed on the title, the article itself, the resource box, and not to mention highly relevant links to a quality landing page! However, your article summary plays a critical role in getting a reader's attention.
Think of an article summary like a movie preview. Great previews provide a brief window of action and drama, as well as the overarching theme to entice the viewer without giving the whole movie away. A captivating preview that engages the viewer will result in a significant increase of ticket sales.
Watch this video and discover what elements go into a great article summary to increase your readership with your next set of quality, original articles!
Downloadable Versions:
A Quick Recap of the 18th "2 Minute Approval Tip"
The purpose of the summary is to give a brief teaser or synopsis of your article highlighting the benefits. You want to entice readers to want to read your article versus someone else's.
Here are a few key elements to a great article summary:
Your summary should be 2-5 sentences in length and should not exceed 200 words.
It must be error-free, grammatically correct and utilize proper sentence structure, capitalization and punctuation.
Your summary should be short, catchy and right to the point.
Share with your reader why your article content is important and let them know they'll find more by reading the rest of your article.
Writing a Great Article Summary
Work backwards! Write your entire article first and then write your article summary. This will help you understand the main points and benefits you'll want to include in the summary for your readers.
Avoid putting too much content into your summary. If you give too much away in your summary, then there really isn't any reason for your readers to continue reading your article. Your audience should feel compelled to continue reading.
Remember to keep your summary reader-benefited, providing clues to the article's content. Any self-serving information should be reserved for your resource box. This may include:
Your author name.
A website URL or email address.
Blatant self-promotion.
In addition, ensure your summary is formatted properly. Avoid:
Paragraph breaks.
HTML of any kind.
Microsoft Smart Quotes
Special Characters, e.g. é, Ã, ó, ú
Money symbols, e.g. Euro (€) or GBP symbol (£)
Also, avoid repeating your article title in the summary. It already appears above the summary itself.
Keep in mind the importance of the article summary while submitting your next article and use these tips to help create a good summary for your readers. Doing so will maximize your results and ensure your quality articles are approved on the first submission. If you ever forget to put in your summary, we will automatically use the first few sentences from your article body.
What summary tips can you share? One popular technique includes ending a summary with ellipses (...), which helps hook the reader into the article. Share your article summary tips in the comments section here!

Write a Product Review to Help Consumers Make Timely Decisions
Product reviews are a fantastic way to educate consumers about their purchasing options while also sprinkling in some of your own expertise and personality.
Many consumers (or potential readers) look for product reviews to gauge the effectiveness of products on the market.
The Internet is a great place to share your reviews of products as it has become the #1 way consumers gather data to research a future buying decision.
Here are two keys to keep in mind when writing your product review:
Harness Your Bias: While you may have some strong opinions about a particular product one way or the other, make sure: 1) you do not have a vested interested in the product, and 2) please keep negativity to yourself - abusing a product or service will hurt your credibility, not the other way around.
Let Value Be Your Guide: Avoid generic statements, e.g. "Where can you buy [product]? Go Online!" Readers are already online looking for information on the product, so they are covered in that department. What readers ARE looking for is an informative product review, chocked full of valuable details about the actual product by a credible source.
The format of a product review is actually pretty simple. So let's get started:
Introduction: Start with a brief introduction to the product. Explain what it is and what it does. If there is an interesting story involved on how you stumbled upon the product, you could tell it here.
Body: Share a quick review of how the product worked for you. Give the product a rating or grade.
Pros: List the benefits of the product. Pick out the features that work particularly well and things that made the product stand out. Try to include at least 2 or more pros.
Cons: List any potential drawbacks you see with the product.
Analysis: Revisit your rating or grade and explain how you arrived there.
Conclusion: Stay positive while concluding the review. Name other options if you have tried them. If it is a new product or a new field, make recognition of that.
For your next article, write a timely product review and use these keys to ensure your product review articles are informative, non-biased, and valuable to readers. Let us know how it worked for you by adding a suggestion or comment here!

EzineArticles Tips and Training Snippets
Writing a good title is like window shopping: If the reader sees something enticing or irresistible, they will stop by!
A broad topic is like a scattered shower during a drought. Narrow your focus & drench your audience with a satisfying rain!
Value yourself & your efforts by valuing your time! Plan ahead: Outline ideas to get the most out of a writing power hour.
Write what you know! Visitors want to read articles by trusted Experts, not someone who "somewhat" knows the material.
Zap the clutter & electrify your writing environment. Fill your workspace with positive energy & let the sparks fly!
I Spy a great article! Make your article easy to spot w/ great grammar, unique content, and a relevant link!
You expect great service wherever you go. Ensure your article performs the ultimate service by focusing on the reader.
A website should be like a well-built home - easy to navigate and welcoming. Make readers feel like valued guests to keep them coming back.
When writing on trending topics, ensure you angle the topic to be evergreen by not insinuating "recent" language.
Your directives determine how much you know! Provide insight with quality, not lack of sight with "go online" advice.
Spelling and Grammar Tips
"Than" is used ONLY for comparisons. "I'd rather eat ice cream than mud." "Then" suggests you will eat the mud AFTER the ice cream.
Grammar Tip: Use "that" when the info must be included to make the sentence true. Use "which" if it can be removed and still be true.
Spelling errors are like bruises on a ripe piece of fruit. Do a thorough scan of your article & eliminate the bad apples.
Run on sentences can be a nightmare for your readers! General rule of thumb: if you wouldn't speak it, don't write it.
INcoNSistEnCIes in your articles are difficult to read, e.g. t-shirt, t shirt or tee shirt. Choose one & be CONSISTENT!

"I have identified article submission to EzineArticles as one of my prime marketing strategies."
I just want to express my thanks for the opportunity that your site EzineArticles has presented to me and the results of that opportunity. Since April of 2005, I have been submitting articles and now have 1,850 articles. As I continually managed to revise the site to make it more search engine friendly, I continued to submit articles and amazing results began to happen.
Without the opportunity to use article marketing and specifically EzineArticles.com, I know that these measurable results would not have been achieved. The quality of your site draws thousands of readers as well as allowing submitted articles to be reproduced globally. Making a web site search engine friendly is one step in Internet marketing but having traffic and spreading credibility as a subject matter expert of business related topics are two other critical steps...
I am sure that in the future I will continue to add to these successes. In my Strategic Plan, I have identified article submission to EzineArticles as one of my prime marketing strategies. Again, my thanks and continue your high standards.

Cure For the Time Vortex
Cure For the Time Vortex
Learn How You Can Manage Your Time Effectively and Add Great Value to Your Article Writing Efforts!
At the end of the day, Alice Wrighter collapsed on her couch next to her husband, and exclaimed: "Wow! I'm exhausted, but I didn't finish one article!"
Her husband turned to her and good-humoredly said, "Well, honey... I know Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, Picasso, commenting on blogs, web surfing, reading the news, email, and playing Angry Birds is part of your creative routine, but wouldn't it be better if you concentrated more of your efforts on building your article library? You know - so you have a solid foundation for your connections to link back to, which will serve as concrete evidence of your Expert Author status and take your credibility further?
"What's that honey?" asked Alice distractedly. "Oh look! X Factor is on!"
Proceed With Caution: The Time Vortex
We have all had days like Alice's...
When you find yourself swept up in a time vortex (obsessively checking email, Facebook, and more), and then moan about all things you didn't get done, we have the solution for you:
Rather than being disappointed, spend your energy getting fired up about what you can do!
Your Prescription: Create an Action Plan
Identify Your Goal
Don't worry about feasibility or circumstances, just consider something you have always wanted to do and set the goal.
Example: You want to write 1 article a day.
Outline Your Strategy
Break down how you can achieve your goal by overcoming obstacles using your strengths. Your strategy will identify obstacles that hinder your productivity, and more importantly, your strengths that will lead you to achieving your goal. The larger the goal, the more strategies you will want to implement, but the important key is to learn how you can use your strengths to turn weaknesses into opportunities.
Example: Let's say you compulsively check your email. Your strategy would be to set aside time to check your email before you begin the task you intend to achieve. This helps you eliminate the distraction of your email before you begin writing your article.
Schedule It
So you like playing Angry Birds. No problem. Schedule it. Employ the 1:2 ratio to keep yourself honest and your schedule balanced. For every X amount of non-productive time you spend, spend 2X's on your article writing efforts.
Example: If you schedule 20 minutes playing Angry Birds, spend at least 40 minutes on your article writing efforts.
Pinpoint Milestones
To help you stay on track, add key milestones to your schedule to help you stay focused on your ultimate goal.
Example: After planning strategies and your schedule, pinpoint milestones throughout your article writing period. For example:
Milestone: Title and Outline Complete.
Milestone: First Draft Complete.
Milestone: Proofed First Draft/Second Draft Complete.
Milestone: Draft Submitted to EzineArticles!
Use these tips to build your article library and your credibility. Remember that old phrase: Rome wasn't built in a day. It takes 21 days to make a process habitual, so tweak your schedule, pinpoint those distractions and use your strengths to overcome them to persevere.

2 Minute Approval Tips: #17 Special Characters in the Title
Episode 17 of the "2 Minute Approval Tips" Video Series
There are many elements that go into a great article title: correct grammar and spelling, an optimized hook, reader benefit-oriented keywords, a balanced use of long-tail keywords, relevance to the article, and proper character usage.
In all the hustle and bustle of article writing, character usage is often overlooked. Proper character usage is important for readability, credibility, syndication, and much more.
Watch this video and discover what special characters are allowed in your titles for your next set of quality, original articles!

A Quick Recap of the 17th "2 Minute Approval Tip"
Your title is the first impression your reader has of your article, so it's important it's a good one.
Since the title is the first thing your reader sees, you want to make sure your title is:
Specific
To the Point
Relevant to Your Article Body
Uses Proper Characters
Some special characters are allowed in the title, but it takes some getting used to in order to ensure you are using proper characters.
Acceptable Special Characters
The Editorial Guidelines state that the following characters are allowed in titles:
, ? ! $ [ ] ( ) _ + - = : / \
Periods are accepted only when used in:
Product Names (e.g. Version 2.0)
Numbers (e.g. 10.5 mm Lens)
Asterisks are allowed only when preserving brand names (e.g. E*TRADE).
Special Characters to Avoid
Titles become a permanent link to your article, which is why characters not compatible with URL formatting are not acceptable in your articles.
The following characters are not allowed because they are incompatible with URL formatting:
< > & ~ # | @
Additional characters not accepted in article titles:
Characters or symbols not found on the American-English keyboard (e.g. € £ © ™ ®).
Using quotes around your entire title (e.g. "Readers Will Think You Didn't Write The Article").
Using a symbol in place of a word is not acceptable (e.g. Make More $ $ $ in Half the Time is not acceptable; however, Make More Money in Half the Time is acceptable).
Optimize Your Title
To ensure your titles make a great impression:
Quickly skim the title. If anything catches your eye other than the words, you may want to change it.
Ask a family member or friend if they think the title works.
Check out the EzineArticles Editorial Guidelines for additional tips on titles.

Diamond Level Membership: Initiate Quality
Diamond Level Membership: Initiate Quality
Boost Your Credibility and Increase the Quality and Speed of Your Article Submissions
Diamond level membership is the highest point of the EzineArticles membership pyramid. It is reserved for the best of the best and has many benefits, including faster article reviews, quicker Member Support response times, and increased exposure.
With a consistent focus on quality and reader-benefited content, any member can achieve Diamond level membership through hard work, dedication, and initiative.
Take initiative by using these milestones as your quality check-points:
Milestone: Building Your Library with Quality Articles
Maintain your connection with your readers by building up your article library to ensure you are giving your readers a consistent flow of articles. The more quality information you provide in your articles on a consistent basis, the stronger your articles and your authority becomes.
Provide your own unique tips, strategies, techniques, case-studies, analysis, opinions, commendatory - the list goes on! The key here: "your own" tips (i.e. your own personal experience and expertise) should be the unique quality that ultimately benefits the reader.
Milestone: Optimizing Your Profile
Including information in your Account Profile will help you maximize your exposure, your reputation and your credibility. To complete your account profile, you should have:
Author Photo: Readers will see you as a REAL person, which in turn establishes your brand and credibility.
Author Bio: A brief summary about yourself and why you're an expert will help readers learn more about you.
Links: Provide readers with your website, personal/blog, as well as your social networking information to use your exposure on EzineArticles to help you build new or reinforce existing relationships with your audience.
Milestone: Proofreading to Maintain Your Credibility
Proofreading your articles and your author bio for grammar and spelling errors is crucial when maintaining readability, credibility, and a connection with your audience. Try reading your articles out loud to catch awkward sentences or have a friend or family member read your articles for comprehension.
Milestone: Getting Exclusive With Your Readers
Provide readers with content that is 100% yours, fresh, transparent, and delivers continuous quality throughout. This exclusivity will pump up your article writing efforts:
Improve Value: Your articles are an extension of you and everything connected to you. Be confident the articles are worthy of the connection by focusing on the information you provide readers and how you present it.
Stand Out: Readers look for content they can relate to that doesn't sound like it just came off the article conveyor belt. Make sure each article stands out with fresh content.
Add Specifics: Generalities are the ultimate expertise-killer. Provide specific details with a fresh perspective: yours!
Be Transparent: If your focus is on reader-driven, quality content, there is no reason to disguise what you do. Be open about who you are and what you are providing.
Milestone: Optimizing Your Links
Choose your links wisely by considering if your link is relevant to your article content, is transparent or intention is clear, and the site has easy navigation. Optimize your landing page with the reader in mind to ensure they will want to come back and visit your site again! Tip: This includes both your links in your articles AND links in your account profile.
If you having difficulties overcoming any of these milestones, rest assured: we know mistakes are made during the learning process. What we look for is if you are learning from those mistakes and are actively attempting to improve upon the quality of your articles.
We want every author to take the initiative to strive for Diamond membership by providing outstanding quality and becoming the leaders of their niche. Ask questions if you don't understand a particular issue with your article.
With these milestones in mind, build confidence in your article writing efforts to increase your credibility and quality-driven readers! To learn more about the Diamond membership level and its incredible benefits, visit The Value of Diamond Membership.

News Analysis Article Template
News Analysis Article Template
Write a News Analysis to Bring New Life to Your Articles
Position yourself as a unique, leading source by sharing your analysis of a currently relevant news event. Not only will you make your topic more interesting instantly, writing news analysis articles will provide you with a continuous pool of article ideas.
The greatest hurdle you must overcome when writing about a news event is the topic may be relevant now, but it may lose relevancy over time.
Your goal with a news analysis article is to write it in a way that makes the topic relevant now and in the future. One way to do that is to focus some of your attention on the future. Another way is to cover a past event in a comprehensive way.
Let's Get Started:
Choose a News Event - When you hear of a news event related to your niche, take note of it. Consider reviewing trade magazines related to your niche regularly so you are always up to date.
Lay Out the Story - Set the scene of the news event. Make this part of the article rather brief because the bulk of the article should be your exclusive analysis.
Give Your Analysis - Give your analysis of the event and explain how it impacts your niche. Does it change the conventional wisdom on the topic? Or does it reaffirm it?
Give a Prediction - Provide a projection examining what you think the future holds for the people involved.
Summarize the Analysis - Recap the event and what it means for your niche.
Now, let's set you up with some keys to success when writing your news analysis:
Relevance - Make sure the news topic is relevant to your niche.
Evergreen - Maintain value with evergreen content that will be applicable to future readers.
Unbiased - Don't let your bias bleed through your content and lower your credibility! Leave out negativity, tacky post-mortem commentary, grandstanding, mud-slinging, etc.
Truth - Be factual. Current events are under the audience's microscope; provide the truth and stay away from hearsay.
Informative - Consider of the 5 W's and H (Who, What, Where, When, Why, and How) to stay balanced in your story, analysis, and prediction.
Exclusive - Become your reader's exclusive source by providing 100% unique content.
Value - Ensure the value of your content is on your analysis and expertise, not the hook.
Use these keys to make your news analysis unique, informative and relevant. Try incorporating a news analysis regularly into your article lineup to keep you tuned into the trends of your niche and provide fresh insight to your readers.
For your next article, be the source audiences are searching for with the News Analysis article template and give your articles, your credibility, and your website or blog a boost! Then, let us know about your experience or if you have any questions by commenting here!

Evergreen Articles Thrive
Evergreen Articles Thrive
Write Evergreen Content to Build Your Article Library
Time-sensitive articles are like deciduous trees: the trees may appear full and healthy, but with the approach of winter, the leaves begin to fall. Time-sensitive articles may attract traffic in their prime, but they will inevitably lose their "leaves" as their relevance becomes obsolete.
Evergreen trees remain robust and require less maintenance throughout the year. They endure, attract, and thrive! Similarly, evergreen articles are full of relevant information, withstand the tests of time, and continue working for you by driving traffic to your site.
Benefits to Evergreen Articles:
Low-Maintenance: Evergreen articles do not require constant updating or submitting new relevant content to replace time-sensitive articles. Rather than replacing out-dated content, if you add evergreen articles to your article library, you will build the volume of articles working for you.
Syndication: Ezine publishers want your high-quality, evergreen content. Publishers are not able to update or change your content, so if it is out-of-date or irrelevant, they will not pick up your articles.
Future Use: If you have a light social media day, you can refer back to evergreen articles in a tweet, etc.
Tips to Keep in Mind When Writing Evergreen Articles
Add longevity to the relevance of the article.
Keep your articles working for years to come by not including dates or time-sensitive material. After you write your next article, read it again and imagine it's one year later. Rewrite anything that would be outdated. For example:
Not Evergreen: Clever Homemade Halloween Costumes For 2011
Evergreen: Clever Homemade Halloween Costumes
Exceptions may include: Many products, movie remakes, etc. utilize a date to differentiate itself from another product. For example, mentions of the movie The Karate Kid will leave readers wondering if the article will discuss the 1984 or the 2010 version. Articles discussing products that are continually being updated may use a year as well, (e.g. Microsoft Office 2007 vs. Microsoft Office 2010).
Consider your angle.
You can still use examples of current trends or news, as long as your ultimate goal or subject is evergreen. For instance, if a topic discusses a major event or change, instead of using language like "recently," "last week" or "today," in the article, try using language that would be effective months or years from now.
Not Evergreen: A little over two weeks ago, Dan Shechtman was awarded the 2011 Noble Prize in Chemistry for his remarkable mosaic of atoms.
Evergreen: Dan Shechtman was awarded the 2011 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his remarkable mosaic of atoms.
Tuning Up Your Article Library
Take inventory of your under performing articles.
Consider the content: Is it still relevant? If it's not, rather than modifying the existing article, write a new article with your new information or perspective to have a long-lasting impact. That way, the old one is still available in case it was syndicated and the new article will rise to the top with its relevant content.
Warning: Be careful! Steer clear of writing rehashed or derivative content. To stay evergreen, your content must be fresh and 100% unique.
Evergreen Extends to Your Links Too.
If you decided to change your website strategies for any self-serving links (i.e. links you have a vested interest in), ensure the articles that may include those links are still active, relevant and provide a good user experience. If you kill a link, you may risk losing credibility.
Increase Your Article's VALUE
No matter the niche, there is highly relevant, evergreen content that withstands the tests of time. While it may be true that all articles someday will lose their relevance (not many people are looking up articles on whether we should reinvent the wheel from stone to wood anymore), don't kill an article long before the topic loses its relevance with readers.
Writing evergreen content increases your return on investment because it continues to work for you, your readers, your publishers, and the world at large. So what are you waiting for? Start building your article library with evergreen articles today!

Thanks so much for the great publicity. I was amazed at how many articles I already had written when I started digging out all my old notes and speeches. Even though we are swamped with projects, the positive effects of passive income and name recognition is well worth the effort. Keep up the good work.

"The editorial quality and common sense approach to authors means that only quality is sufficient."
I have been using the services of EzineArticles for several years now and I can honestly say that it provides me with one of the most constant and reliable forms of traffic to my own sites. The editorial quality and common sense approach to authors means that only quality is sufficient. This gives my contributions - and those of other authors - considerably more credibility.

Keyword Research Tips For Expert Authors
Unlock the Door to Readers With Keyword Research
We know there are a few experts who cringe at the word research. Here's the scoop: Experienced Expert Authors know with a little organization, planning, and research - you can vault your articles clear over the competition to the traffic of your dreams by focusing content on quality information and targeting readers with the proper keywords.
One of the best ways to get your articles on the reader-targeted traffic fast track is keyword research. Here are some tips that are SO easy, you'll forget it's research:
So what's the first thing you should start with? Your EXPERTISE.
In 5 minutes, jot down 1-3 phrases that are related to your niche. For example, let's say I'm a Dietician who specializes in heart disease. My keyword phrases might include: low sodium, low cholesterol, bad cholesterol, etc.
Once you've compiled a list of keywords, take the keywords out for a spin:
Enter a keyword into a search engine. For instance, as I begin typing "low cholesterol" into Google, 4 autocomplete results begin to appear: low cholesterol diet, low cholesterol foods, and low cholesterol recipes. These autocomplete results will show some of the most highly searched phrases in your niche.
Examine the results: Are the sites relevant, what sort of products/services do they provide, and what type of site is it? This will help you measure the saturation of your niche, the quality of the keywords and which keywords other experts in your niche are using.
This is a fairly easy way to check for quality keywords, but an even EASIER way is checking out keyword tracking sites like Wordtracker, Good Keywords, and Google's Keyword Tool. You can build a list of the keywords that are currently popular which you can use to write your title, article, and build your Call-to-Action in the resource box.
And you thought that was easy? The EASIEST way to get laser-targeted keywords with little time and effort is: EzineArticles Title Suggestions Tool! We do ALL the work for you by collecting the keyword data in your niche, incorporating the keywords in an attention-grabbing, relevant, and benefit-oriented title.
Now that you have a list of keywords or titles ready to rock and roll, it's time to write quality articles! Use the following tips to ensure quality is your focus:
Titles and Keywords Tips:
Be Relevant: Use keywords that are relevant to the topic of the article.
Attention Grabbing: Titles should grab the reader’s attention with active and persuasive language.
Benefit-Oriented: The title should clearly answer the reader’s ultimate question - WIIFM (What’s In It For Me?).
Search Engine Friendly: Use your keywords in the first 3-5 words of the title.
Long-Tail to the Rescue: Long-Tail titles have less competition and have a higher conversion rate than short-tail.
Article Body and Resource Box Keywords Tips:
Don’t Overdo It: Even with keywords, there is “too much of a good thing.” Stuffing keywords looks spammy and reads poorly.
Bold Section Headers: Similar to titles, optimize headings in your article with keywords to keep the reader engaged in your article (the further the reader gets, the closer they are to your Resource Box and Call-to-Action).
Correct Spelling and Grammar: Forcing keywords often results in poor grammar. Let your content naturally flow and the keywords will incorporate themselves. Also, don’t use a keyword or phrase that is spelled incorrectly - it is a huge turn-off and drops your credibility.
Call-to-Action: In your Resource Box, incorporate your relevant keywords into your Call-to-Action to assist readers in finding more information or services on your website!

"Thanks to EzineArticles.com, I have helped 600 more job hunters get hired this year."
I became an EzineArticles.com expert author back in 2008. I was skeptical about this marketing strategy as a resume writer since my business is in a narrow niche. So, my approach was to write higher quality info articles that would truly benefit my readers. It worked well. Here is a no hype summary of my five star results versus the previous year:
608% increase in web traffic.
200% increase in website visit time.
258% increase in return website traffic.
100% increase in conversion rate.
170 info articles posted again on websites.
Many new clients from the U.S. and Canada.
Thanks to EzineArticles.com, I have helped 600 more job hunters get hired this year. God bless you all.

To Quote, or Not to Quote? That Is the Question.
By: Penny, EzineArticles Managing Editor
Our answer? Be the Source.
Maintaining originality is the most important key to building your brand, credibility, sales, referrals, and ultimately viral distribution of your articles.
Your view matters. It is your vision that keeps articles desirable to readers and as long as you are wanted by readers - publishers will want to use your articles in their newsletter (which means more traffic back to your site). Prove your status as an expert in your niche by not using more than 3-5 lines of sourced material in your article.
Here's why:
Articles Are Evergreen
Evergreen articles have no expiration date; they are timeless. Timeless articles remain beneficial to readers and publishers because the content and information stays accurate and valuable. They will out-perform articles that discuss fads or topics that will no longer be a main head-liner a month or even a year from now.
Articles Are Not Dissertations
Readers and publishers want quick, easy, original, and informative content. This ideally is in the form of articles between 400-700 words. It's easier to republish an article of this size than a research report topping around 5,000 words.
Also, our data shows the average article reader's attention span wanes after 2 minutes. And if that wasn't enough, it has been found that the average reader reads text roughly between 250 - 300 words per minute. That means after 2 minutes of reading (about 500-600 words), your reader is ready to call it quits on your article! Hence our recommendation: 400-700 words.
Protect Your Credibility
Plagiarism IS a serious matter. If you find yourself absolutely itching to quote another author, ALWAYS attribute the quoted content to the original author. You can find more information in our Editorial Guidelines: Article Content (Section 1.b.).
We want to solidify your credibility, not the person you are quoting. Supplement quotes with plenty of your own commentary: 1) quote and cite the original source, 2) reflect how the quoted author's topic may have influenced your niche, 3) whether you agree or disagree, and 4) provide unique content the quoted author may have overlooked or neglected to provide!
Bottom-line: Be The Source.
If you want your articles to spread over the Internet like wildfire, provide YOUR own unique insight. Be the author that inspires readers, be the author that hooks publishers, and be the original source.
Before you panic about providing content that is both unique and from your own view point, check out this video to help you get started and consider the 5 Questions to Ask Yourself Before You Write Your Article. Then follow-up with these brainstorming techniques to stir up some hot new ideas for your niche.

Overcoming Objections Article Template
Overcoming Objections Article Template
How do you demystify your reader's objections and uncover the real truth in your niche?
With so much information out there, it is easy to be lured down the wrong informational path. Even the savviest Internet readers have been led astray all too often.
If you are seeing confusion within your niche, why not address it head on?
As an expert in your niche, you are in a position to share your expertise and help people overcome obstacles to reach the real truth. Your shared knowledge will leverage your credibility and bring targeted traffic back to your site.
In this article template, your ability to paint a picture of a topic accurately and then cut through the objections to deliver a slice of reality builds momentum for the reader, as well as trust!
Can't think of an objection? You can gather this information by checking out discussion pages, forums, FAQs, or even collaborating with other experts.
Let's unveil the truth with this Overcoming Objections article template:
The Title: Many People Believe That (Objection Goes Here)
Introduction: Describe what people believe about the industry and why folks believe it. This helps build a foundation of trust and they'll want to read what you have to say to contradict that view. Which brings us to the...
Body: Kick off with a contradictory word such as;
Ironically, However, Actually,
And then write a paragraph of why this is NOT the case, and what the reality actually is. This helps leverage your expertise in your niche by highlighting the truth against the objection. You are now the source by providing your unique perspective and backing it up with your experience and knowledge as you share it with the reader.
Next, you need a couple of paragraphs to "boomerang" your article back to the original objection, stating why the objection is false and why the exact opposite is true. Provide details and back it up with the evidence: your experience and knowledge.
Conclusion: Lastly, follow-up by reminding people that it's okay to have believed the falsehood, as many people do, but now they know the truth and should now act on that knowledge.
Walking through these steps will make it infinitely easier to write a high-quality article in no time and help ease readers away from false notions of your niche!
For your next article, consider writing an Overcoming Objections article. Once you've completed at least one, let us know about your experience or if you have any questions by commenting here!

What's better than spell check? A friend willing to read your article. Human eyes catch things like "to" vs "too" better than software.
Keep the ball rollin'! Use your unique content & style in your articles to build credibility & continue w/ relevant linking.
Think of your article as a journey for the reader. Leading them to a link rich with content will inspire them to make a return trip!
What the link?! Picture ergonomic chairs, then picture cat food. What's in common? Nothing! Uphold credibility w/ relevant linking.
Resource Box Looting: Stuffing keywords into a resource box robs the reader of an awesome experience and loyalty to you.
Titles are like champagne corks! They need to be well-made & a good fit to the article to keep the contents fresh!
Adding a location to your title is like sending a spouse to the store - if you're not specific, you might not get what you wanted!
Stay dry in your niche by fending off over-saturation with an umbrella of quality information & unique perspective.

"It's all about sharing!"
As we go through life, we become more experienced in the profession we work in. It makes sense to pass on this knowledge to those who are following behind us on the path of life.
Having written commercial marketing plans, course notes, university lectures, etc. for nearly 50 years, it is nice to have an avenue that allows the freedom of expression that EzineArticles offer.
Thank you, also, for giving me Expert Author status in so short a time. Hundreds more articles yet to be written - God willing.
