"Thanks to EzineArticles.com, I have helped 600 more job hunters get hired this year."
I became an EzineArticles.com expert author back in 2008. I was skeptical about this marketing strategy as a resume writer since my business is in a narrow niche. So, my approach was to write higher quality info articles that would truly benefit my readers. It worked well. Here is a no hype summary of my five star results versus the previous year:
608% increase in web traffic.
200% increase in website visit time.
258% increase in return website traffic.
100% increase in conversion rate.
170 info articles posted again on websites.
Many new clients from the U.S. and Canada.
Thanks to EzineArticles.com, I have helped 600 more job hunters get hired this year. God bless you all.

Keyword Research Tips For Expert Authors
Keyword Research Tips For Expert Authors
Unlock the Door to Readers With Keyword Research
We know there are a few experts who cringe at the word research. Here's the scoop: Experienced Expert Authors know with a little organization, planning, and research - you can vault your articles clear over the competition to the traffic of your dreams by focusing content on quality information and targeting readers with the proper keywords.
One of the best ways to get your articles on the reader-targeted traffic fast track is keyword research. Here are some tips that are SO easy, you'll forget it's research:
So what's the first thing you should start with? Your EXPERTISE.
In 5 minutes, jot down 1-3 phrases that are related to your niche. For example, let's say I'm a Dietician who specializes in heart disease. My keyword phrases might include: low sodium, low cholesterol, bad cholesterol, etc.
Once you've compiled a list of keywords, take the keywords out for a spin:
Enter a keyword into a search engine. For instance, as I begin typing "low cholesterol" into Google, 4 autocomplete results begin to appear: low cholesterol diet, low cholesterol foods, and low cholesterol recipes. These autocomplete results will show some of the most highly searched phrases in your niche.
Examine the results: Are the sites relevant, what sort of products/services do they provide, and what type of site is it? This will help you measure the saturation of your niche, the quality of the keywords and which keywords other experts in your niche are using.
This is a fairly easy way to check for quality keywords, but an even EASIER way is checking out keyword tracking sites like Wordtracker, Good Keywords, and Google's Keyword Tool. You can build a list of the keywords that are currently popular which you can use to write your title, article, and build your Call-to-Action in the resource box.
And you thought that was easy? The EASIEST way to get laser-targeted keywords with little time and effort is: EzineArticles Title Suggestions Tool! We do ALL the work for you by collecting the keyword data in your niche, incorporating the keywords in an attention-grabbing, relevant, and benefit-oriented title.
Now that you have a list of keywords or titles ready to rock and roll, it's time to write quality articles! Use the following tips to ensure quality is your focus:
Titles and Keywords Tips:
Be Relevant: Use keywords that are relevant to the topic of the article.
Attention Grabbing: Titles should grab the reader’s attention with active and persuasive language.
Benefit-Oriented: The title should clearly answer the reader’s ultimate question - WIIFM (What’s In It For Me?).
Search Engine Friendly: Use your keywords in the first 3-5 words of the title.
Long-Tail to the Rescue: Long-Tail titles have less competition and have a higher conversion rate than short-tail.
Article Body and Resource Box Keywords Tips:
Don’t Overdo It: Even with keywords, there is “too much of a good thing.” Stuffing keywords looks spammy and reads poorly.
Bold Section Headers: Similar to titles, optimize headings in your article with keywords to keep the reader engaged in your article (the further the reader gets, the closer they are to your Resource Box and Call-to-Action).
Correct Spelling and Grammar: Forcing keywords often results in poor grammar. Let your content naturally flow and the keywords will incorporate themselves. Also, don’t use a keyword or phrase that is spelled incorrectly - it is a huge turn-off and drops your credibility.
Call-to-Action: In your Resource Box, incorporate your relevant keywords into your Call-to-Action to assist readers in finding more information or services on your website!
For more information on incorporating keywords into your articles the RIGHT way, check out these posts for a few tips to ensure you have the right balance and get the traffic you deserve:

To Quote, or Not to Quote? That Is the Question.
By: Penny, EzineArticles Managing Editor
Our answer? Be the Source.
Maintaining originality is the most important key to building your brand, credibility, sales, referrals, and ultimately viral distribution of your articles.
Your view matters. It is your vision that keeps articles desirable to readers and as long as you are wanted by readers - publishers will want to use your articles in their newsletter (which means more traffic back to your site). Prove your status as an expert in your niche by not using more than 3-5 lines of sourced material in your article.
Here's why:
Articles Are Evergreen
Evergreen articles have no expiration date; they are timeless. Timeless articles remain beneficial to readers and publishers because the content and information stays accurate and valuable. They will out-perform articles that discuss fads or topics that will no longer be a main head-liner a month or even a year from now.
Articles Are Not Dissertations
Readers and publishers want quick, easy, original, and informative content. This ideally is in the form of articles between 400-700 words. It's easier to republish an article of this size than a research report topping around 5,000 words.
Also, our data shows the average article reader's attention span wanes after 2 minutes. And if that wasn't enough, it has been found that the average reader reads text roughly between 250 - 300 words per minute. That means after 2 minutes of reading (about 500-600 words), your reader is ready to call it quits on your article! Hence our recommendation: 400-700 words.
Protect Your Credibility
Plagiarism IS a serious matter. If you find yourself absolutely itching to quote another author, ALWAYS attribute the quoted content to the original author. You can find more information in our Editorial Guidelines: Article Content (Section 1.b.).
We want to solidify your credibility, not the person you are quoting. Supplement quotes with plenty of your own commentary: 1) quote and cite the original source, 2) reflect how the quoted author's topic may have influenced your niche, 3) whether you agree or disagree, and 4) provide unique content the quoted author may have overlooked or neglected to provide!
Bottom-line: Be The Source.
If you want your articles to spread over the Internet like wildfire, provide YOUR own unique insight. Be the author that inspires readers, be the author that hooks publishers, and be the original source.
Before you panic about providing content that is both unique and from your own view point, check out this video to help you get started and consider the 5 Questions to Ask Yourself Before You Write Your Article. Then follow-up with these brainstorming techniques to stir up some hot new ideas for your niche.
Share with fellow Expert Authors how you build your credibility by being the source. Please post comments, questions, or view what the Experts have to say here.

Overcoming Objections Article Template
Overcoming Objections Article Template
How do you demystify your reader's objections and uncover the real truth in your niche?
With so much information out there, it is easy to be lured down the wrong informational path. Even the savviest Internet readers have been led astray all too often.
If you are seeing confusion within your niche, why not address it head on?
As an expert in your niche, you are in a position to share your expertise and help people overcome obstacles to reach the real truth. Your shared knowledge will leverage your credibility and bring targeted traffic back to your site.
In this article template, your ability to paint a picture of a topic accurately and then cut through the objections to deliver a slice of reality builds momentum for the reader, as well as trust!
Can't think of an objection? You can gather this information by checking out discussion pages, forums, FAQs, or even collaborating with other experts.
Let's unveil the truth with this Overcoming Objections article template:
The Title: Many People Believe That (Objection Goes Here)
Introduction: Describe what people believe about the industry and why folks believe it. This helps build a foundation of trust and they'll want to read what you have to say to contradict that view. Which brings us to the...
Body: Kick off with a contradictory word such as;
Ironically, However, Actually,
And then write a paragraph of why this is NOT the case, and what the reality actually is. This helps leverage your expertise in your niche by highlighting the truth against the objection. You are now the source by providing your unique perspective and backing it up with your experience and knowledge as you share it with the reader.
Next, you need a couple of paragraphs to "boomerang" your article back to the original objection, stating why the objection is false and why the exact opposite is true. Provide details and back it up with the evidence: your experience and knowledge.
Conclusion: Lastly, follow-up by reminding people that it's okay to have believed the falsehood, as many people do, but now they know the truth and should now act on that knowledge.
Walking through these steps will make it infinitely easier to write a high-quality article in no time and help ease readers away from false notions of your niche!
For your next article, consider writing an Overcoming Objections article. Once you've completed at least one, let us know about your experience or if you have any questions by commenting here!

Your resource box is the 'nutritional information' of your article; give readers a breakdown of how you are beneficial to their daily lives!
What's better than spell check? A friend willing to read your article. Human eyes catch things like "to" vs "too" better than software.
Keep the ball rollin'! Use your unique content & style in your articles to build credibility & continue w/ relevant linking.
Think of your article as a journey for the reader. Leading them to a link rich with content will inspire them to make a return trip!
What the link?! Picture ergonomic chairs, then picture cat food. What's in common? Nothing! Uphold credibility w/ relevant linking.
Resource Box Looting: Stuffing keywords into a resource box robs the reader of an awesome experience and loyalty to you.
Titles are like champagne corks! They need to be well-made & a good fit to the article to keep the contents fresh!
Adding a location to your title is like sending a spouse to the store - if you're not specific, you might not get what you wanted!
Stay dry in your niche by fending off over-saturation with an umbrella of quality information & unique perspective.

User Experience Land: Rollercoaster Rides!
The Ups and Downs of User Experience
Welcome to User Experience Land where internet users flock to the attractions your articles offer! As your tour guide today, I will be taking you to our first stop in this internet amusement park: the rollercoasters. Our park has 3 fabulous rollercoaster rides for you to choose from! Excited Right?
Heartbreaker!
Tour Guide: Step right up, step right up! The Heartbreaker is a fantastic coaster! There's five loops and two giant drops; everybody who's been on this ride has loved it! Unfortunately it appears this coaster is still under construction... Hmm, you're a tad disappointed. Moving on, then!
User Experience: Links that are broken or down for maintenance stop users in their tracks and force them to leave disappointed. Ensure your links work so readers can enjoy all the content on your site! Check your links using multiple browsers and then test them at least twice.
Choppy Loop!
Tour Guide: The Choppy Loop coaster takes you on the ride of your life! Just look at how much fun these riders are having. Oh! It seems that the coaster has stopped in the middle of a loop for the riders to view a message from our sponsors. Not to worry... These ads are quick. I'm sure they'll be down sometime... Well, on to the next coaster as we won't wait.
User Experience: Links that break up a user's experience with excessive ads or exit pop-ups distract readers and leave them frustrated. Make quality content the focus of your link's landing page to encourage readers to stick around.
Rock n' Roller!
Tour Guide: Here we have the Rock n' Roller! This coaster's sign says it has two loops and a corkscrew. Look, you can see them right over there! The Rock n' Roller has 5 stars in safety and is not under construction! In fact, navigation is smooth and you're able to experience everything you were promised PLUS more! This coaster is what every rider is talking about!
User Experience: Links that deliver on the promise and have great content provide users with a good experience. These links keep readers coming back for more, build reader loyalty, and boost your credibility as an expert in your niche.
As a user, which rollercoaster would you choose?
Make sure your links provide users a rock 'n roll experience by double-checking that they work and contain all the great content you promise. It's the best way to get readers to visit again and again!

Good Articles vs. Ugly Articles
Good Articles vs. Ugly Articles
How to Avoid Poor Writing Habits and Keep Your Articles Lookin' Good
While beauty may be in the eye of the beholder, there are just some things that we all can agree are undesirable. For instance, imagine you are looking to buy a new home. You walk in the house for the first time with your real estate agent and you see light fixtures hanging, windows broken, holes in the roof, and leaky faucets. This house isn't just a fixer upper... it's UGLY!
The same thing can be said about articles. While it's fine to have some rough patches in your first draft, an article that is submitted for review with thin, spammy, keyword stuffed, promotional content is just plain ugly!
Watch this video to learn the difference between good and ugly articles to keep your articles lookin' good!

Write Show-Stopping Articles
There are several things you can do to make sure your articles are "ready for their close-up."
1. Make sure that your articles are one of a kind.
Your article should be offering a new piece of information to the market each time. If you're not doing this, your audience will begin to look elsewhere for their information.
2. Make sure your articles are easy to read.
This includes using proper grammar, and balancing keywords. Read the article out loud to yourself before you submit it to make sure it reads naturally.
3. Make sure your articles are not self-serving.
Remember, the article body is where you GIVE information to your reader. The resource box is the appropriate place to TAKE your reader to your link, or give them more information about your business.
Each "good" article you write will help you to attract readers and build credibility. Don't let an ugly duckling get in your way to success! Use quality checks to ensure your articles provide quality information, read naturally, and give.

Identifying the Needs of Your Audience
Identifying the Needs of Your Audience
5 Questions to Ask Yourself Before You Write Your Article
"If you give an audience a chance they will do half your acting for you." - Katharine Hepburn
Katharine Hepburn, the great American actress, knew a thing or two about utilizing an audience.
When you set out to write an article, it is important to know how to use your audience. This will help you create something that is in demand and that is well received. When your audience feels their needs are being met by your articles, they will consider you a reliable authority and keep coming back for more!
Watch this video to learn how to ask yourself the right questions about your audience to jumpstart your article writing process!
Downloadable Versions:
Five Important Questions You Should Ask Yourself:
1. Who is my audience for this article?
It is important to know who you are writing for. This will help you develop an appropriate tone and style for your article. It will also help you present the information you want to present in the most effective way. For example, using jargon or complicated concepts in an article would not be appropriate for a reader who is new to the niche.
2. Why am I writing this article?
Are you writing to introduce people to your niche? Are you writing to raise awareness for an issue? Are you writing to inform someone who is already an expert of a new product or technique you discovered? Each of these scenarios would require a different article.
3. What information does my audience crave?
Knowing what your audience wants to learn is a very important piece of information to have. This ensures you are delivering the type of content that is in demand.
4. Why does my audience need this information?
This ties into the previous questions: if someone reading your article wants to learn everything there is to know about golf because they want to become an instructor, they would want a vastly different article than someone who is just looking for a few beginner tips to improve their weekend game.
5. How can I deliver even more to my audience?
Making sure your links are optimized to deliver the best content is very important. If you are sending readers to your link for more information, make sure it's easy to find and plentiful. This will build trust and keep your readers coming back to you again and again.
Channel your audience with these questions and let them help you in your future article writing! Revisit this post online to share your experiences and let us know what you do to keep your audience in mind!

Tips to Resubmit Your Articles for Review and See Them Published!
Whether you're a newbie or a practiced author, writing articles can sometimes be a challenge... but the results are well worth the effort it takes.
We know you have worked hard on your articles and are improving your article writing efforts every day to ensure your brand and your credibility are not tainted by content that isn't of the highest quality. Still, it happens every once in a while… You have a well-meaning article that you've submitted and in our efforts to make sure you don't accidentally slip into the problematic end of the article pool with all your articles and lose your credibility, your article ends up in problem status.
To help you along the path from problem status to published, here are three tips to editing and resubmitting your article:
Tip #1: Look for patterns.
Do you find that all your problematic articles have the same issues? Take note of these patterns. They'll show you areas where you most often slip up. Focus on those areas to improve your article's chances of being published.
Tip #2: Know what needs editing before you start fixing.
If you receive a message telling you your article has been placed in problem status, make sure you understand the issue prior to editing and resubmitting. If you're not sure what needs to be fixed, check the Editorial Guidelines or search our new FAQ page. If you still can't find the answer to your question, contact Member Support for clarification.
Tip #3: Use all the resources available to you.
Every author loves their work! That infectious pride can be a double-edged sword: your passion is channeled to readers, but you may overlook areas while editing and proofreading your articles. A great method to overcome oversight is relying on the resource of your senses! Proofreading by sense can include reading your article out loud or reading the article from the bottom to the top to change your perception!
Another great resource: a friend! Rather than depending on your own eyes, ask a friend to review your article. They'll be able to tell you if it makes sense!
The EzineArticles Article Writing & Insights blog is chucked full of information for article writers. Explore by category or simply browse recent entries. Either way, you'll find great advice and videos to help you along.
Use these three tips as you edit each article before resubmitting it to increase your odds of success. You'll see your articles published before you know it!
Want expert article writing advice that goes above and beyond what is contained in the blog? Consider the Article Approval Package. Set Goals to Achieve Article Writing Success
Set Goals to Achieve Article Writing Success
Overcome writing blocks and writing anxieties by setting goals!
If you find yourself wanting to become an Expert Author, but are anxious about your writing abilities, or feel you have exhausted every writing bone in your body, listen up: YOU CAN WRITE!
EzineArticles delivers some of the best targeted traffic. To capitalize on this available traffic, create some article writing goals for yourself today!
Goal setting, in article writing, in business, and even in one's personal life, helps you focus your efforts into a plan. Whenever you are stuck or feel anxiety looming, you can refer to this plan and stay on the road to success.
Here are some tips on how you can effectively set goals and conquer any article writing anxieties once and for all.
1. Set a Goal
Setting a goal can be as broad as "I want to write more articles," or something a little more focused as "I want to master 2 niches related to my expertise."
Once you have set a goal, it will become your mission to achieve this goal. When you are in a tight spot, you can revert back to your original goal and consider the following:
My Goal is…
Will this help me achieve my goal?
2. Plan Strategically
Now that you've set your goal, begin implementing measures to achieve it by breaking the goal down into manageable tasks over a period of time. This may include acquiring resources to develop your knowledge base, as well as breaking the goal down into steps. Challenge yourself by stepping a degree outside of your comfort zone. You'll surprise yourself with what you can do!
For instance, if my goal is to write more articles, my plan might look like this:
"I will write 5 articles this week." Once I've achieved that goal, I'll step it up and write 10 articles the next week.
3. Set Milestones with Quality Checks
In order to stay the course and prevent yourself from goal derailment, ensure you've set milestones and quality checks.
Milestones can be used to reward yourself and measure your progress. Quality checks can be used to ensure you don't derail completely and sacrifice your credibility and brand, as well as the traffic you are aiming to drive toward your site.
For example, I will reward myself when my 5 articles are finished. To ensure I'm reaching my audience, providing informative content, and not submitting my articles with reckless abandon, I will track which articles were published and if there were any problems along the way. This will help me prevent any issues in my future articles so I can meet my goal efficiently, effectively and ultimately drive traffic to my site.

Grammar Gone Wild!!
Grammar Gone Wild!!
Exposing Tips to Eliminate Confusion in Your Articles!
Article writing doesn’t require a doctorate in English, just a basic understanding of how to use the English language to communicate your ideas clearly.
Here are three common errors that cause confusion for readers.
Common Error #1 – Using Understood Verbs Incorrectly
The technical stuff: Understood verbs occur when you could use an additional verb (action word) at the close of a sentence, but you choose to not include it.
This causes confusion because readers aren’t sure who’s doing what within the sentence. Give readers all the tools they need to understand exactly what you’re saying, even if it means using a few extra words. Don’t assume they’ll “get it.”
For example: “I love writing articles more than Sally!”
This sentence could mean one of two things: 1) You love writing articles more than you love Sally, or 2) You love writing articles more than Sally does. Be clear, otherwise you might find yourself in some hot water with Sally!
Common Error #2 – Using Too Much Passive Voice
The technical stuff: Passive voice occurs when the subject of a sentence indicates the recipient of the action.
When readers don’t find out what’s happening until the very end of the sentence they become confused or bored. When writers use too much passive voice, their readers fall asleep!
You want to engage your readers. If they’re bored or confused by your writing, they’ll leave. Active voice is the best way to grab your reader’s attention and hold it.
The key to using active voice is making sure that the subject of the sentence is doing something, rather than something being done to it.
Examples:
Passive: Lots of information was learned by the readers.
Active: The readers learned lots of information.
Passive: The right words were used by the speaker and the audience’s attention was grabbed.
Active: The speaker grabbed the audience’s attention by using the right words.
Notice passive voice uses words like “was,” “were,” “been,” and “being.” Avoid using too many of these.
Common Error #3 – Misusing Commas
The technical stuff: The comma is used to indicate a slight pause in a sentence, to separate a nonrestrictive clause from a main clause, and/or to create distinct items in a list.
Commas can create confusion and distraction; where you place this tiny punctuation mark can drastically change the meaning of a sentence.
For example, compare the following two sentences:
“Go, get him doctors!” – A command to go get medical help for someone.
“Go get him, doctors!” – Urging doctors to go get someone.
Entire books have been written about how, when, where and why to use them (or not). Keep it simple. Read your article out loud, and stick commas where you naturally pause.
For example: “Her articles always grab my attention, and they deliver great content!”
You can make your articles sound a lot better without struggling through language and syntax classes or wrestling with boring textbooks. Grammar is one of the most important tools in your communication belt. Don’t get too hung up on the ins and outs, just make sure that your readers can follow what you’re saying. They’re hungry for your knowledge, and a quick grammar check helps you deliver it clearly.

Brainstorming Techniques for Expert Authors
Brainstorming is a technique many Expert Authors use to cultivate ideas and tap into creative sources to keep their articles informative and laser-focused.
Try the following brainstorming techniques to unlock the power of your articles!
Mind Mapping
Mind maps help you organize your thoughts by being able to see them visually. This technique also taps into the creative and resourceful part of your mind. This in turn helps you write better and more engaging articles!
Begin a topic, which we will refer to as "the root." Then start writing ideas that stem off from that root, and then write more ideas that stem off that root, and so on!
For example: Let's say I'm dog groomer and I'm stumped for article ideas. So I focus on my root "dog grooming tips" to get started and I let everything naturally flow from this root idea as it comes to me.
Mind Map - Dog Grooming Tips
Involves: dog nutrition for a healthy coat, brushing, and bathing. (Bathing! This reminds me that flea season is upon us with all the wet weather we had...)
Flea Season
treatment indoor/outdoor
prevention
hiring a professional to get rid of fleas (Professionals! Groomers and exterminators…)
How to Hire/Find a Professional
dog groomers
exterminators
check credentials
products professionals use (Products! Safe for home use and heavy duty…)
...and so on!
The 5 Ws and the H
Outlining the 5 Ws and the H (Who, What, Where, When, Why, and How) creates an intuitive checklist and background for you to reference while writing. This helps you target your audience's needs! Aiming your articles engages your audience, which builds loyalty to you and your site.
Here's an example:
Who is your Audience?
What are their needs or wants?
Where do they go to get it?
When do they need it?
Why do they need it?
How can you over deliver on it?
Pump Up Your Brainstorming Routine
Grab a stopwatch and try these 15 minute brainstorming sessions:
Stream of Conscious Writing: Begin by writing the first idea that pops into your head and keep writing wherever your mind takes you. It can completely change from the original topic, but keep writing! This technique helps unlock any article ideas you never knew you had!
The Power of Lists: Pick a topic and begin creating a list of all the attributes of that topic. It could be a Pros or Cons list, best or worst, etc. Share your results in an article!
Read Up: Pick an article and read it. After reading, set your stopwatch and begin writing everything you can remember about the article, any impressions, and how the article's topic impacts your niche. This technique helps build your repertoire by gathering new information and you can share your impressions and the impact the topic has on your niche with your audience!
What methods or techniques do you use to brainstorm and stay motivated while writing articles? Share your story about how brainstorming has gotten you results in your article writing efforts in the comments section of our blog, here!

Simple Tips for Going from "Expert" to "Expert Author"
Simple Tips for Going from "Expert" to "Expert Author"
You're an expert in your niche, and translating all that knowledge into articles doesn't have to be complicated, even if you're just starting out.
Here are five simple tips to transform from an Expert into an Expert Author! Tip #1 - Establish Your Goal
It may seem like common sense, but many authors forget to figure out what they're trying to say before they start writing. Outlines are useful tools for giving your article structure, but if you're not a big fan of outlining, answer the following questions before you start writing:
Who am I writing for? What's my ideal audience?
What do I want my readers to learn from this article?
How will I explain/prove my point?
Tip #2 - Be Informative
Readers seek informative content, so provide the "give" in your article body and leave the "take" for your Resource Box or website. The quality of your information should make a good impression by providing value to the reader, not leaving them wanting more. Resist the temptation to sell in your articles.
Tip #3 - Share Your Experience...
You're an expert in your niche, but your readers are not. Don't worry about making your writing sound smart, just think of some questions your readers will have and answer them. You can also use article templates to help you structure the information in your article and generate new ideas.
Tip #4 - ...But Not All At Once
You have a lot of knowledge, and you're excited to share it. However, don't overwhelm your readers. Break up large topics into smaller components in separate articles. This gives you more articles to write and won't scare readers with extremely long articles.
Tip #5 - Consider Hiring a Ghostwriter
Weigh your options. Is your business better served if you outsource the article writing and focus on other aspects of your business instead? If so, you can find some hiring tips here!
These five tips will help you convert your expertise into articles that will bring you readers and traffic. Keep the reader's needs in the front of your mind as you write and they'll thank you by coming back again and again. Try these tips out in your next article, then let us know how they work in the comments below!

Avoid Common Article Writing Roadblocks
Avoid Common Article Writing Roadblocks
Map Your Route to Success
Article writing is like taking a road trip - it requires thorough planning and flexibility if you don’t want to be caught without a toothbrush and gas.
To maintain speed and enthusiasm, map out a route to ensure you do not meet any roadblocks along the way. This plan should include a little wiggle room for added flexibility so you do not trap your creativity, but you still can plan and set milestones to check your progress.
To help you plan your route to success and bypass roadblocks, we’ve collected the most common article run-ins that halt traffic along the article review highway.
Author Names Don’t Match – Your author name is your personal brand. Ensure your byline is spelled correctly and the Resource Box signature matches the byline to avoid confusion and make sure the reader can focus on the article instead of figuring out who wrote it.
Teasers and the Article Series – Each article should always stand on its own, i.e. the reader should not have to click away to gain the full benefit of the article. Ensure the article body delivers on all aspects of the title.
Gender and Author Name Confusion – Readers can become confused when a Resource Box signature reads “John Smith is an entrepreneur. Please visit her site…” Avoid reader confusion by ensuring the gender matches gender specific-names.
Link is in a Foreign Language – Linking to a non-English site is confusing to the reader. Link to sites in English to avoid this confusion.
Keyword Stuffing Your Resource Box – Keyword stuffing creates a poor user experience, violates author/reader trust, and diminishes your credibility as an Expert Author.
Anchor Text Does Not Deliver – The context in or around your anchor text must deliver as promised. Misleading the reader by promising something and not delivering kills credibility and readership.
Links, Links and More Links – Article submissions are allowed to have no more than 2 Self-Serving Links (links in which you have a vested interest), and 2 Non-Self Serving Links (links most commonly used for reference). Check them once, check ‘em twice – if the link doesn’t work, or if the link doesn’t fit the context – don’t use the link.
Grammar is Critical – Ensure your articles are free of grammar errors. This includes sentence structure, proper punctuation, and proper spelling. If English is not your first language, have someone proofread it for you.
You’re Not Exclusive With Your Rights – Do not submit an article that isn’t yours, i.e. you don’t own exclusive rights.
Not Sure, But Submitted it Anyway – Submitting blindly throws in a speed bump – it slows your article down from getting approved. If you are not sure about one of our Editorial Guidelines, contact our Member Support Team.
These common article run-ins will impede your article review momentum, so make sure you’ve removed these roadblocks for a speedy route to success.
Do you have examples of road blocks that you've overcome that you'd like to share?
How do you overcome roadblocks? Was it left off this list? Head on over to this post online and add your thoughts in the comments section.

Formal vs. Informal Writing: Who's the Audience?
Formal vs. Informal Writing:
Who's the Audience?
Before you start writing an article, one of the first things you need to ask yourself is "Who's my audience?"
Pinning down your target audience is a crucially-important step in your effort to communicate clearly.
Miss the mark by not taking a topic seriously enough and you run the risk of alienating that core audience. On the other hand, take too formal of an approach to a lighthearted topic and you'll appear rigid and unemotional.
So, you really have to know exactly what group of people you're writing the article for to ensure you communicate in the best possible way. Watch this video to discover the differences between formal and informal writing to help you gear your writing in the right direction.
Downloadable Versions:
Formal Writing
Tends to be complex and thorough
Takes on more serious topics in a very direct way
Uses longer sentences and each of the main points are introduced, elaborated on and concluded
Uses full words, not contractions or abbreviations
States the main points objectively and confidently and also offers a full support of arguments
Not a personal writing style, there are very few emotions included
Informal Writing
Tends to be more conversational
Uses figures of speech and slang
Keeps it short with contractions and abbreviations
Conveys a more personal, emotional tone
Speaks directly to the audience by using words like "you" and "your"
Uses shorter sentences
Think about your audience and the topic of your article. Adopt a formal style when you're taking on a more serious, objective topic. And write informally when you're comfortable and familiar with your readers.
In the end, you have to make the decision of which style of writing is best for your articles.
It's in your hands now, so go write and submit a brand new set of quality, original formal or informal articles. Then, revisit this post online to share your experiences.

My website traffic continues to grow almost exponentially month to month, and my links are at about 7,000+. And the best of all - I am showing up on page one of most of the search engines now for many of my key search words.
Even when I slow down with my writing the links just continue to grow, mainly because people are still reading the older articles even when I'm not writing new ones.

Creating Juicy Article Content
Creating Juicy Article Content
What makes content juicy?
Just like the appetite we hold for the most succulent food, we also have a craving for succulent article content.
Of course, we all have slightly different tastes, but articles that hit "the spot" with ripe, juicy content usually have several things in common that hit the taste buds of the target audience you're reaching out to.
Recognizing juicy content is a whole lot easier than writing it. To get you on your way to writing juicy content 100% of the time, here are some ways we recognize juicy content and then some tips on how to make it happen in your own articles.
Content is juicy when ...
It gives the feeling you're writing a top secret diary entry - In other words, you're giving stuff that you don't share with just any person. It's special information. It's also not dry or indigestible.
You know you could be charging top dollar based on the quality of the information - At the market, the "Free, Take One" sign is rarely propped up next to the juiciest watermelons or oranges. Instead, they might put the sign up by their overripe produce. Surprise people with the quality of the article content you provide for free. They'll appreciate it and be way more likely to come back for more - whether it's free or not.
There isn't anything out there like it on the web - The special angle you take into your writing will strongly dictate how unique it ends up. Yes, being a better-than-average writer helps, but you can also repeatedly generate juicy content if you're the first/best writer in your niche to ______________________. (e.g. compare your niche to everyday life, write articles that elicit a strong emotional response, etc.) You make it one-of-a-kind by injecting yourself into the writing.
It modifies or shifts your worldview - There's a difference between providing interesting information and completely changing the way someone else approaches a topic. The article has to be insightful AND address possible counterarguments successfully.
It's evident you "get" who the audience is and the position they're in - Knowing your audience is a big deal. Without a strong connection to the audience, you hardly stand a chance to present them with the juicy stuff they are looking for and present it in the way they are most likely to receive it.
Now, an article doesn't have to have all of these things to be juicy. It's rare that an article will meet all of these points, but think about what each means and how to get your writing to that point. Then get back to writing and submitting your next article for more traffic back to your website or blog.

"In no time they wanted to interview me on local TV!"
I've got to tell you this! Someone read my article entitled "Breaking the Real Estate Bubble Myth" published on EzineArticles ... and in no time they wanted to interview me on local TV! I mean, my face was splattered all over the TVs in the Province.
Now, I don't know whether they put me on TV because I'm such an intelligent fellow, or because I'm so good-looking, or because I'm simply ... great. I'm thinking, it's probably a combination of all three - but it doesn't matter! What counts is that they picked the article here.

Personal Story Article Template
Personal Story Article Template
A personal story or anecdote can be the perfect gateway to the hearts and minds of your audience.
Not only does a personal story give you a chance to share your experiences, but you also get to build trust with your audience by showing what you know about your niche.
After all, if you've gone through something yourself, even if it was just one time, you probably have an insight to share with other people who face similar circumstances.
The key to writing an article based on a personal story is to tell it clearly and explain the moral of the story (i.e. what did you learn from it?).
Without that, there's no point in telling the story at all.
Sharing a story with a clear moral is a good way to share the experience AND build trust with your audience as an authoritative voice in your niche. Here's a general overview of how to do that:
Pick Your Story - Every day we stumble across opportunities to share our stories, but we don't always think to write down what happened and save it for an article to be written later. Start writing down what happens when you're experiencing something new or something related to your expertise.
Once you start doing that, you'll have some idea of the story you'd like to tell through your writing. You could be writing about something that just happened yesterday. Or, you could think about the past and flip open your journal to bring back older memories.
Tell the Story - Set the scene for the story by providing the who, what, when, where, why and how of what happens. Leave out information if it seems trivial or unimportant to the story. Use chronological order as best you can.
Explain the Moral of the Story - Feel free to combine the story and moral together. The more you go into detail on why you're telling the story and what you learned from the experience, the better.
For example, you might be writing about a recent night out when you were trying to save some money. The moral of the story could be something like, "See it really is possible to find inexpensive food and entertainment in the heart of New York City. Dinner for two and a movie cost us less than $40. You, too, can save by following these tips …" followed by your own original tips.
Give Further Advice - Add additional advice as you see fit. Also, think about whether you would have done things differently given the opportunity and share that.
Your next original article is only a few short steps away and this article template makes it easy! Check out this post online to get more information or leave a comment.

2 Minute Approval Tips: Articles in a Series
2 Minute Approval Tips:
Optimize Articles in a Series
Episode 16 of the "2 Minute Approval Tips" Video Series
Article writing by its very nature is geared toward sharing valuable content in short articles around 500 words long
If your article is too long, your audience could get bored and click away before you get to deliver your message. If your article is too short, though, you risk under-delivering and not sharing enough information. Sometimes, the only way to convey a BIG idea is to write a longer article and then break it up into a series of articles.
Unfortunately, this can cause confusion. If the reader arrives at "Part 1" first, at least they'll get an introduction to the series. But, if a reader starts with one of the other parts, they may miss something shared in an earlier part.
Therefore, it's important to make sure that every article series is optimized and that each individual article stands alone, without being propped up by the other articles in the series.
Watch this video to discover how to optimize those articles in a series.

A Quick Recap of the 16th "2 Minute Approval Tip"
Accidental Article Set - We hear stories from authors all of the time that they sat down expecting to write a 500-word article, but ended up discovering they had a whole lot more to say than could fit in that many words. Because they had momentum on their side, they just kept writing and eventually they ended up with 1,200 words or more. To make the biggest impact with their writing, they made the decision to chop the long article up into 3 separate 400-word articles.
Unfortunately, EzineArticles, by its very nature, is not conducive to a sequential series of articles. Readers tend to find articles as single links in the chain rather than the entire chain. Plus, there's no guarantee the reader (or ezine publisher) is willing to go searching for the rest of the series, so it's extremely important to make each article you write capable of standing alone.
Questions to Ask Yourself - Once you have your set of articles in front of you, ask yourself these questions about each article:
Does this article deliver on the promises made in the title? If you promise a certain number of tips in the title, have that number of tips in the article.
Does the article stand alone? If the reader has to look at another article in the series to get the full benefit, then it doesn't stand alone.
Is the article optimized for distribution? Articles in a series with something like "Part 1 of 3" in the title rarely get picked up and distributed on your behalf because it's just too much work to go searching for all the parts.
If you can answer "Yes" to these questions for each article in the series, then your article set should be ready to go.
If not, spend some writing time shaping and massaging the rough edges of each article so they deliver on the promise of the title, they stand alone and they are optimized for distribution. Then, and only then, will your article set be ready to generate traffic for you.
Have any questions about writing articles in a series or delivering on the promise of your title? Take a minute to watch the video and leave a comment here.

Making Quality the Priority
Making Quality the Priority
See What Happens When Quality Falls On the Priority List
When a comedian fails to present his best material for his primetime show, its only a matter of time until he'll be hearing crickets, or worse yet, get booed off the stage. His audience paid good money to see him perform and if he doesn't live up to their expectations, they'll let him know.
Your audience has certain expectations, too. High on that list is to be given quality information that's accurate and insightful.
Regardless of the niche you write in, quality should always be your number one concern. If it's not, your audience may not "boo you off the stage," but they will click away from your article and go to someone else for the answers they're looking for.
Watch this comedian FAIL to see what happens when quality is not the number one objective.

Questions to Ask Yourself
Here are 10 questions to ask yourself about your articles to make sure quality is a high priority in your writing:
Did I read the article out loud at least once to make sure it was error-free?
Can my audience get this same exact information from another source?
Is the point of this article to lead people to my links without giving any real, concrete advice?
Am I answering a question or reservation I hear frequently from some of my everyday interactions?
Did I stay on topic or get off track and write about things unrelated to the title of the article?
What's this articles "punchline?" Did I place the most important pieces of information in the right spots?
If I were in school, what type of grade would I give myself on this article?
How much of the article comes from my own original thoughts compared to some research I just did?
Is the link in my Resource Box relevant to the topic of the article, or does it lead the audience to something completely unrelated?
Does the material I share go above and beyond the "general knowledge" level that everyone has?
Am I proud to have my name connected to this content?
Did I miss anything? Feel free to visit this post online and share any other questions you ask yourself to make sure quality is your highest priority.
